A most unusual and pretty piece. This is a handpainted trinket box with the lid sculpted into a figure of a cherub sitting in a shell-like seat. There is a mark on the base but I can't make it out, but the piece was probably made in Germany c.1910. It is in excellent condition and the colours are lovely and bright.
