A lovely example of a 'Celery Vase' made in glass.
It had become very popular to eat (and serve) celery sticks by the late 19th century and this vase dates from 1890 - 1910. This vase is well engraved with grapes and has a feather engraving around the top.
It stands 11 1/2" tall and has a 4" base. The measurement at the rim is 4 1/4".
The condition is excellent, with no chips or cracks. There are a few minor scratches commensurate with age. There are a few lovely air bubbles too.
