An unusual antique Belleek basket in the shape of a shamrock (or trefoil) with the 4-strand basketweave, and with 3 lovely hand-made rosebuds and leaves placed around the top rim. There are also 3 tiny flowers interspersed between these.
The basket is in a dark lustre colour different to the others. (please see the last photograph comparing 2 colours of baskets). This is a colour used in earlier baskets. This one dates from the period 1921 - 1954.
There are 2 bits of damage on this basket. The major one is underneath - with a piece missing from the lower rim. And the minor one is one of the single strands around the side is missing a tiny piece. Please examine the photo's (6).
The damage doesn't detract from the piece as it is not noticeable when displayed.
