An unusual antique fob for a watch chain in 9 carat gold which has the old rose colour. It is in very good condition, and is unusual in that it hangs straight down without the stone being seen.  It has a nice swirl of gold in openwork design.

This stone is cornelian, and sometimes would have been carved with a persons initials for the purpose of a seal - that is, sealing a letter with the wax and then adding his initial to the wax with the fob.
